About Jim Corbett National Park
Corbett National Park is located in the state of Uttarakhand (a new state, formed in 2000, from the northern part of Uttar Pradesh state), India which lies in the foothills of the Himalayas. Every year more than 2 lakh people visit Corbett national park from India and abroad. Corbett is known for its wildlife, particularly the tiger, and is the best place in the vicinity of Delhi if one is looking for fresh air, huge trees, rivers, flora, fauna, picturesque views, and breathtaking landscape. It remains to be sparsely populated due to the huge forest reserve area. There are small pockets of habitation amidst dense forest.
One can visit Corbett at any time of the year depending on one’s liking. Different seasons have something different to offer: Winters (Nov to March) are good if you just want to relax and soak in the sun during the day and enjoy bonfires in the evenings. Summers (April to June) is the best time to spot wildlife since animals come out in open to search for water. Additionally, fruits like Mango and Litchis are available in plenty – a cool bliss in the hot summer months. Monsoon (July to Sep): It rains heavily and becomes lush green. If you like playing with the water amidst green hillocks and not too much crowd, then this is the ideal place for you! One can see many small rain streams that enhance the beautifying charm of Corbett.
Recommendation: If you can afford to come on a weekday it provides the perfect opportunity to go for safaris rather quietly.
